Hello Friends! Welcome to Day 3 of the 10 Day Thanksgiving Journey!
Whether you’re just hopping on the Journey today, or you’ve been in since Day 1…welcome! It’s great to have you here! Let’s dive into Day 3, which is the topic of Grandparents, or anyone who has/had a Grandparent role in your life. Let’s do this!
Day 3: Grandparents
Today, thank God for your grandparents or someone who stepped in as a grandparent in your life. I was blessed when it came to grandparents. I had many, and they were all incredible people. I have wonderful memories of spending nights at their homes, staying up late and playing games, eating lots of junk food…and even sugar cereal, going out on the pontoon, running around Deer Acres after hours, riding in the tractor. The memories vary depending on which grandparent, but they are all precious to me. Some of us have grandparents in our lives well into adulthood, and others lose their grandparents rather young. And perhaps some of you don’t have positive memories about your grandparents. But my guess is, there is something about a grandparent that helped to shape who you are today. That some type of memory was created. Some type of tradition that you still like to keep in place. Some type of lesson you learned. Take time today to thank God for the peple who played a grandparent role in your life.
Scripture:
I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and I am pursuaded, now lives in you also. 2 Timothy 1:5
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4
Challenge:
If your grandparents are alive, send them a message or give them a call today to let them know you are thankful for them. If they are gone, take some time today to share with your family something special about your grandparents.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you and praise you today for the grandparents you have placed in my life. I thank you for the lessons they taught me, the traditions they created, the love they shared. Amen.
